Most of what people order from this department is cookware they cannot find easily at home: stainless steel pressure cookers, heavy-bottomed kadhais and tawas, brass and copper serveware, and the small steel storage that Indian kitchens are built around. These are made for daily cooking rather than display, so they tend to be heavier and plainer than the export versions sold elsewhere, which is usually the reason people want them.
Weight matters more here than in any other department, because shipping is priced on it. A cast iron tawa or a five litre pressure cooker will cost more to send than its price might suggest, and you will see that figure at checkout before you commit to anything. If an item is unusually heavy we would rather you knew at that point than after.

- Will an Indian electrical appliance work where I live?
- Often not without help. Appliances made for India are built for a 230 volt supply and an Indian plug, which suits the UAE and Australia but not the United States or Canada, where the supply is 110 to 120 volts. Please read the listing carefully before ordering an electrical item, and treat a plug adapter as a separate question from a voltage converter. Non-electrical cookware has no such limitation.
- Is the cookware safe for an induction hob?
- Some of it is and some of it is not, and the listing is the place to check. Traditional brass, copper and aluminium pieces are generally not induction compatible, while most modern stainless steel cookware is.
- Will I be asked to pay customs or duties when it arrives?
- No. Shipping and duties are both settled at checkout, so the total you see there is the total you pay. Nothing is collected at your door.
- Which countries do you ship to?
- We ship from India to the United States, Canada, the United Arab Emirates and Australia. Your shipping options and the final total are shown at checkout once you enter your address.
- What if something arrives damaged?
- Send us photographs at [email protected] within seven days of delivery and we will make it right with a full refund or a free replacement, whichever you prefer. You do not need to ship the item back.
