What this category actually is: traditional Ayurvedic preparations, mostly honey-based syrups built on tulsi, mulethi, pippali and adulsa, along with menthol and eucalyptus balms and lozenges. They are widely used in India as household remedies and many people abroad want the specific one they grew up with rather than an American equivalent, which is a perfectly good reason to import.
Being straight about what they are: these are traditional preparations and food supplements, not licensed medicines, and nothing here is intended to diagnose or treat anything. They have not been assessed by the FDA.
