Most of what is listed here is sterling silver, gold plated brass or fashion jewellery rather than solid gold, and each listing says which. Indian jewellery making has regional traditions that are worth knowing by name if you are shopping seriously: temple work from the south, meenakari enamel and kundan setting from Rajasthan, filigree from Odisha. These are techniques rather than brands, and they tell you more about a piece than the price does.

Plated finishes need a little care to last. Keep them away from perfume, hairspray and water, put them on after you are ready rather than before, and store them dry. Handled that way a good plated piece stays bright for years.

Questions people ask

Is the silver hallmarked?

Sterling silver pieces are stamped 925 where the maker hallmarks them, and the listing will say so. Gold plated and fashion pieces are not solid gold and are not hallmarked, and we describe them as plated rather than as gold.

Is there a duty limit on jewellery?

Duties are already settled at checkout, so this is not something you need to work out. The price you pay is final.

Will I be asked to pay customs or duties when it arrives?

No. Shipping and duties are both settled at checkout, so the total you see there is the total you pay. Nothing is collected at your door.

What if something arrives damaged?

Send us photographs at [email protected] within seven days of delivery and we will make it right with a full refund or a free replacement, whichever you prefer. You do not need to ship the item back.
