Buying as a set is the norm in Indian jewellery rather than an upsell, because the styles are designed to be worn together and matching a necklace to earrings after the fact is difficult across makers. A bridal set typically means necklace, earrings and often a maang tikka.
The traditions are worth telling apart. Temple sets come from the south and carry deity motifs in heavy gold plating. Kundan sets stones into a gold foil bed and is the Rajasthani bridal style. Polki uses uncut diamonds and sits at the expensive end. Oxidised silver is the everyday counterpart.
Check the necklace drop length against something you already own. Indian sets are frequently longer than they appear in a product photograph, and a piece that sits at the wrong height is hard to alter. We cannot accept returns for fit, so the measurement is worth two minutes before ordering rather than after.
