PREFACE to 2nd edition:Recording case history is an important skill in health sciences, especially in clinical practice, and forms a vital part in periodontology. However, students find it hard to grasp the concepts of case history, importance of various parameters, on how to examine the patient and to document these findings. Most of the books on the subject explain this topic over several chapters, mixed with other topics. This book consolidates the concepts and practices of case history skills. After my maiden venture,I am happy to bring out the 2nd edition of “Case History Recording in Periodontics” with the help of constructive feedback and suggestions from the users of 1st edition of the book, many of my students and colleagues. Useful additions have been made to the chapter on indices and a model case history has been added. FOREWORD:....Case history is an integral part of the medical and dental curriculum. The foundation for taking good case history should be laid in the initial years of clinical exposure for a better diagnosis and treatment plan. After her maiden venture has been well received and accepted by dental students, my friend and colleague, Dr. Divya Bhat, is bringing out the second edition of her book "Case History Recording in Periodontology".
