Note from the Author : Community Medicine Simplified is a book intended for undergraduate medical students, written in an examination oriented approach, considering the necessity of having a simple, systematized and complete book on community medicine. It is intended to provide an insight into the basic concepts related to community medicine. It is adequately illustrated with diagrams and flowcharts, which can be reproduced without any difficulty. The approach is to attract and inspire the student in applying the basic principles in community medicine in professional practice. Throughout the book an attempt has been made to indicate particularly important matters. Recent developments in the field has been incorporated. It is requested that the discrepancies, if any noticed, may please be intimated to me , so that it may be taken care of in the next edition. Constructive feedback is always welcomed. In order to avoid duplication, points discussed in theory part are not elaborated in practical part and vice versa. I have tried to make this book student friendly as far as possible.
