(Each hook end is silicone-coated and generously measures 3/8" wide.). Then pull the two cord ends apart from each other which automatically engages the cord lock. You can then let go of the cords and see if the fit is snug enough and also move the hook ends a bit with your fingertip to position them evenly around the object.
