He did his DPM and Senior Residency from one of the most premier and oldest institutes in mental health in India - Central Institute of Psychiatry (CIP), Ranchi. After working as a Psychiatrist under Punjab Civil Medical services for around 7 years, he is currently running his private practice under the name “Mind Matters” in Punjab. He is also associated with Prabh Aasra, a shelter-home working for the destitute and helpless people. From his senior residency days, he developed a keen interest in clinical teaching. Even in his current clinical practice, whenever he gets an opportunity, he tries to teach his psychology interns, nursing students and freshers, emphasising on the basic concepts of history taking and interviewing.
