Higgins Black India Pigment Drawing Ink 1 oz. Glass bottle A warm black, this is a true artist ink. Non-waterproof black holds precise pen line work as well as bold strokes and delicate brushes. It differs greatly from black watercolor in that watercolor shows more water solubility and transparency than non-waterproof black ink due to the Arabic binder. Non-waterproof black ink is semi-opaque and smudge: dry edges may smooth but are not completely lifted. This non-waterproof formula allows for mess-free blending, shading and washing, ideal for artists looking to create depth and dimension in their work. The ink reactivity to water allows for delicate transitions and smooth gradients. This ink is forgiving, allowing for corrections and adjustments. Its carefully balanced carbon pigment formula is the lightest of Higgins India inks, but it can be layered to create dense areas of black as well as diluted to create subtle changes in lighter gray tones. Bottles contain droppers so ink is easy to dispense without the risk of spilling. AP non-toxic, conforms to ASTM D-4241 and made in USA.

• Use with brushes and dip pens on paper, cardboard and film. Clean tools with tap water immediately after use or use Higgins Pen Cleaner (#45101) for dry ink.
