When your hand gets closed to the sensor, the switch toggles its state (it turns on if the current state is off, or vice versa). The sensor will have ~1 second hold off time after the state is changed. During the hold off time, the switch keeps the current state and sensor won't do any detection until either the hold off time is passed or your hand moves away. If the hold off time is passed but your hand is still on the sensor, the switch will toggle its state again. * So how about if something keep staying on the sensor? Will the light keep On and Off? Yes, It will. But the IR sensor will only turn On and Off few times and then will go to sleep mode. We purposely added this protective logic in the switch for safety. To resume it, just simply move the blocking-object away. The switch will back to normal.
