An American library scientist, while reviewing the book has termed it as 'The Professional Bible for Indian Librarians.' Since then, the book has been growing in both its size and content. The book carries a foreword by late Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, who stated "The present book gives a comprehensive account of the organization and administration of a library."
