About the Author Laya is six years old and this is her first book. When she first arrived in the United States at the age of four, she had trouble speaking English. She continued to work on it gradually, and since then she reads children's books so voraciously that she wanted to write one. Her parents wanted to publish this book as an encouragement for her effort. That's also how the book was made.
