A high specific gravity is associated with the attributes of noble, valuable and precious (e.g. precious metals). Longevity- Intense exposure to the sun can lead to unwanted discoloration in unleaded crystal (solarization). The high concentration (>24 % by weight) of lead oxide, the stabilizer, confers excellent chemical resistance (dishwasher resistance). Aroma - the aroma of wine, whisky or any other drink can develop best in a lead crystal glass.
