PSITTACUS Mini hand feeding is designed to constitute 100% of the parrot's diet from the moment pin feathers begin to emerge until weaning to the recommended bird species (cockatiels, sun conures, and Galah cockatoos). Mix with lukewarm water (98-102ºF) at a concentration of 20-25% (similar texture of a shaken yogurt or smoothie). Average intake is around 7-10 ml per 100 g of body weight and feeding bout. The number of feeding bouts per day depends on the stage of development of the chick. Crop should be full but not overstuffed. Confirm that the crop is empty in the morning. Leftover formula must be discarded after each feeding bout. It is advisable to use a first-age hand feeding formula for younger birds (PSITTACUS Psittacine Crop Milk). At weaning, switch progressively to PSITTACUS Micro, Mini or Minor daily diet (depending on the bird species). No vitamin or mineral supplements should be given to parrots whose staple food is PSITTACUS daily diets. Once the package is opened, store in an air-tight container in a cool, dry place.
