Dromedary camels are found in the deserts and grasslands of the Middle East northern India and parts of Africa including the Sahara Desert. Their diet mainly includes leaves dry grasses shrubs and thorny plants. They are a domesticated species with an average life span of 40 to 50 years. Dromedary camels have one hump thick lips to forage for food long eyelashes that keep sand out of their eyes and thick footpads for walking across the desert.
