The book is written over the course of five years. Although the contents of the book do not do justice to this time period, the triveni (poems) in the book are written as and when some common or uncommon events occured in the author's life. By dressing them as words, the book has tried to contain the myriad emotions felt by the author over this period, however the theme of the book is melancholia. The author believes it is a necessary state in order to relish the happier moments in life to a greater extent. There are also thirty pictures in the book contributed by different people which attempt to define the mood of the poem as and when they appear.
